Hello everyone!
During the months of February and March, volunteers and I worked steadily to weed books that were out-of-date, not read, or just not what the community is interested in. We also packed up all of the books that had not been sold over the past two summers in our book sale. As you can see below, we shipped out over 1,200 books! And that made more room for new material.
SIES has partnered with Better World Books to receive our weeded and discarded books. We receive a 15% commission on sales of our books. Based on the value of the book sold, we may receive a hirer commission. We could also designate a Nonprofit Partner In Literacy. Since SIES is a nonprofit we designated ourselves and will receive an additional 5% on sales. We will also have a link on this website for you to buy books from this company which will also provide income for SIES.
As you can see in the tables below, we have taken positive environmental impact steps by having our books recycled and reused. We have earned over $50 so far.
