An egg blew up in the library….

Oh my goodness what fun we had last night.  Egg shells went flying, hydrogen was exploding, peroxide became a flowing fountain of volcanic foam, and a purple liquid moved through the colors of the rainbow before staying orange.

Martin Molecule (aka Patrick Martin) treated us to a series of experiments based on chemical reactions. The Mad Science website has a bio on Patrick.  He “holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Bowdoin College. He has a real thirst for learning and shares his excitement about education with everyone, children and adults alike.  Martin Molecule has taught children ages 3 – 16 as a Camp Educator at Wolfe’s Neck Farm and was a high school chemistry tutor. When he is not busy at the Mad Science Laboratory, you can find Martin Molecule acting on the local stage and inspiring children in the theater arts.”

Make sure you look through all of the other images from last night’s performance in the “Recent Photos” slide show on our home page.
