We gooped our way into August

Happy dog days of August everyone….a bit of heat would actually be quite nice.

Children have been taking part in quite an array of science experiments on Thursday mornings.  In this photo you can see the brightly colored, drippy goop created one very intense morning.  2013-01-02 17.16.59Clouds were also forming –  in mason jars – that sort of went along with all of the fog we’ve been having around here.

We had quite a treat listening to Acousticks a recorder consort.  I had no idea there were so many types and sounds of recorders.  We even got to hear our own Nancy Davis play with the group.  Thank you Nancy for recommending Acousticks to us.

2013-01-02 22.22.29-2The Bazaar was held inside the library this year.  Weather during the middle of the week has been somewhat inclement.  A great crowd gathered for the Bazaar, however I forgot to take pictures while the crowd was in the building.  Thank you to all who took part!

Brian  Beal stopped by and passed on more information about clams than I ever knew existed.  I don’t know exactly how I feel about clams tasting the best and being the juiciest when they are ready to create babies. Hmmm….

Outward Bound students spent time arranging grant blocks from the foundation of the Old Atlantic Schoolhouse to create a raised bed garden beside the entry to the library.  It Outward Bound-moving rocksis going to be a wonderful addition when it is finished.  A big thank you goes to Fern Burns, Fran Chetwynd, Anna Smith and of course the students from Outward Bound for organizing and doing all the work.

Lots more happening around town especially with Sweet Chariot coming up.  Stay tuned.
